Lifter wear, camshaft damage, oiling concerns, and timing component wear can lead to engine noise or internal damage. A repair facility should identify the cause of the original failure and address related systems during installation.
Lifters & Camshaft
Valvetrain wear and lubrication concerns can affect lifters and camshaft surfaces. Review the condition of related components and the applicable updates for your replacement build.
MDS, Where Equipped
Some applications use Multi-Displacement System equipment. The replacement engine must match the vehicle’s required configuration. Neither listing is advertised as an MDS-delete build.
Timing & Oiling
Both engine options list new timing components and an oil pump. Proper lubrication and installation procedures remain essential when putting a replacement engine into service.

What is the difference between these two engine options?
The OEM spec engine is $3,450 and includes a 3-year / unlimited-mile nationwide parts and labor warranty. The Fraser Advantage engine is $4,099 and adds the listed upgrades and applicable TSB updates, a 5-year / unlimited-mile nationwide parts and labor warranty, and 1 year of No-Fault coverage. Written warranty terms apply.
Are these engines for 2003–2008 applications?
This page covers 5.7L HEMI Gen 1 replacement options for verified 2003–2008 applications. Vehicle year alone does not confirm fitment. Your VIN, engine configuration, and required components must be reviewed before ordering.
Will both build levels fit my vehicle?
Both build levels are offered for compatible Gen 1 applications. Our team verifies the exact configuration for your vehicle before processing the order. Do not assume that any 5.7L HEMI engine is interchangeable with another.
Does either option include an MDS delete?
Neither listing specifies an MDS delete. Applications with MDS must be identified and matched to the appropriate build. Ask Sales about any requested configuration changes before ordering.
What parts are included with the engine?
Both options list a remanufactured engine block and cylinder heads, new pistons and rings, new bearings, a balanced and tested rotating assembly, new timing components, new gaskets and seals, and an oil pump. The Fraser Advantage package also lists upgraded components and applicable TSB updates. External accessories are included only when specifically confirmed with your order.
Does the picture show everything I will receive?
Product images are illustrative. Your selected option’s component list and confirmed order determine what is supplied. Have Sales confirm any oil pan, covers, intake, fuel system, wiring, sensors, or other external accessory requirements.
Is shipping free to my repair shop?
Both listings include free shipping and core pickup to qualifying commercial addresses in the continental United States. Residential delivery and additional services may carry charges. Our team confirms shipping eligibility and details before processing.
Do I still need to return my old engine core?
Yes. No upfront core charge is available on eligible orders under Fraser’s core return program. It does not remove the requirement to return a qualifying core. Applicable waiver fees, deadlines, and core value are confirmed in your order agreement.
When is payment charged?
Payment is not charged until your order is verbally verified. Complete the order form, then call 800-731-3177 and press 1 for Sales to confirm your VIN, engine selection, shipping details, and final total.
Can I add No-Fault coverage or installation products?
Ask Sales about the No-Fault coverage options, Premium Installation Kit, and Premium Engine Break-In Oil listed above. The Fraser Advantage engine already includes 1 year of No-Fault coverage at no additional cost. Eligibility, upgrade pricing, and selections are confirmed before processing.
Does the warranty cover labor for a DIY installation?
DIY installations receive parts-only coverage. Professional installation eligibility, labor reimbursement, exclusions, and claim requirements are governed by Fraser’s written warranty terms.
